It is so hard to believe that Kenzie is already in 5th grade. There have been so many changes and challenges over the past year, and she’s taken them like an absolute champ. The transition into a new school is so hard, and she navigated new friendships, new social circles, and learned a lot in the process. She also found a love of basketball, and her team won 2nd in the district! A lot of that had to do with incredible coaches, one of whom we actually knew from meeting at an art fair! The universe has a way of making the vast unknown seem a little less intimidating, and that really helped. She got to spend an entire year with her best friend, Sarah, but then dealt with the sadness of Sarah moving away. It’s been a year full of really high highs, and some really tough lows, but through it all, Kenzie is still the most incredible, wonderful, vivacious, loving individual. Beyond proud that she’s our daughter.
1. What is your favorite color?
Purple.
2. What is your favorite toy?
Slime. (Oh, this makes me so sad. I am so ready for this trend to be over!!)
3. What is your favorite fruit?
Watermelon. How can you not know? (Pre-teen much?)
4. What is your favorite TV show?
Bluey? FULL HOUSE! (She watches the original on repeat, over and over and over. She loves Michelle. Have mercy.)
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch?
Xiao long bao. Soup dumplings! (We just got back from San Diego. She probably ate 12 xlb in one sitting. I was lucky to get two.)
6. What is your favorite outfit?
Mmm…my green dress from Urban Outfitters. (We got it for her first day of school. Found it right after dropping Jeff off at Union Station, and she was in tears and needed retail therapy, so we stopped in Streeterville for some shopping. I didn’t like it, she wanted to try it, as soon as she put it on, I knew I was wrong. It is adorable on her!)
7. What is your favorite game?
Roblox. Murder Mystery…MM2. (She went to coding camp this summer, and coded a Roblox obby! I was so impressed. I am secretly hoping this obsession continues.)
8. What is your favorite snack?
Chocolate brownies.
9. What is your favorite animal?
Capybara! (We just got back from visiting the San Diego Zoo, where she saw a bunch of them in person. She also got to rug tuft one. It’s an obsession.)
10. What is your favorite song?
Too Sweet by Hoozier and Lunch by Billie Eilish.
11. What is your favorite book?
Who Is Taylor Swift, the autobiography one. (Still not loving reading, but doesn’t seem to have much of a problem if we’re playing Cards Against Humanity – Family Edition!)
12. Who is your favorite friend to play with?
Sarah, Penny, Lily, Josie, Benjamin (Benjamin is a new student in her school, and he lives just down the street. So great!)
13. What is your favorite sport?
Basketball, Tennis, Figure Skating, Track
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
Hang out with my friends and go to the park, and do my fairy garden!
15. What is your favorite drink?
Water and blue Gatorade
16. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night?
The stuffie named Bun Bun! (Big Pup is sulking like no one’s business.)
18. What did you do today?
Stuff. No, I’m joking. I played with my friends on Roblox!
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday?
Sushi. I want tuna avocado rolls.
20. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A famous person, or a teacher, or a baker. And a mom, I guess.
