Lots of changes this year! Kenzie is headed to Baker Demonstration School, a private school, where she’ll be the 10th student in her class! She’s very excited, as she’ll be joining one of her best friends. We’re excited because it’s a great school, and hopeful that the smaller class size will help keep her engaged.
1. What is your favorite color?
Purple. (This is awesome, as I’m headed to teach at Northwestern this year!)
2. What is your favorite toy?
My tablet, for playing Roblox. (I can’t believe that a gaming platform that has worse graphics than the Sega Genesis of my 1980’s childhood, is THE thing to do for these kids.)
3. What is your favorite fruit?
My favorite fruit is lychee, peaches, and mangoes. Avocados, strawberries and watermelon. And PLUMS.
4. What is your favorite TV show?
Nailed It. (We also watch a lot of Going RV in this household.)
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch?
Probably my mom’s special noodles. They have corn, ham, cheese, and lots of noodles. (We call them cheesy noodles. I made this when we had nothing in the house for lunch except for frozen corn, shredded cheese and a fourth of a bag of egg noodles. It’s been a fave ever since she started going to school!)
6. What is your favorite outfit?
Aeropostle pants and Aeropostle white shirt. With my Air Jordans. (Love Aeropostle! We stumbled into their Michigan City outlet en route to Michigan, and what a find. Loads of basics that she and I both love, at reasonable price points. We just went to one by us for back to school shopping, and oh my goodness. $100 got us two pairs of jeans, a pair of leggings, a hoodie, and two tops. I was thrilled.)
7. What is your favorite game?
Sherlock, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and Uno. And Skipbo. Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is the game where mom always gets hurt. (True story, my overzealous family gashed my finger so hard playing this game, I had to get a band-aid.)
8. What is your favorite snack?
Blue Takis. (What about those chocolate-covered dates?) AND those chocolate-covered dates, they taste like Snickers!
9. What is your favorite animal?
Geckos, cats and dogs. (We’re on Bobo 4.0 now. Bobo 1.0 was an enole stuck in Grandma’s window, so we rescued them and took them home. It did not like the Chicago winter, so it bit the bullet. Bobo 2.0 was a replacement gecko, who dropped its tail the first day with us, and was exchanged for Bobo 3.0. Bobo 3.0 escaped with Vinny’s help and is likely roaming our vents. Bobo 4.0 came in a mail order kit, and appears to be doing well.)
10. What is your favorite song?
Mercy, by Shawn Mendes. (She immediately starts singing…) Take it easy on me…lalaal…. and WAIT. There’s Nothing Holding Me Back, by Shawn Mendes. I know all those lyrics. I love Shawn Mendes.
11. What is your favorite book?
Chapter books and old books.
12. Who is your favorite friend to play with?
Penny. Lily. Sarah.
13. What is your favorite sport?
Tennis. (I think she just likes the clothes.)
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
Hang out with my friends outside, at a park.
15. What is your favorite drink?
Water.
16. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas and Easter.
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night?
Bun bun, Big Pup and Stitch.
18. What did you do today?
Hung out with my mom, went on my tablet
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday?
Pineapple pizza and cake.
20. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A teacher, a baker, and a gamer. A YouTuber too.
